What could be a better way to realise a change of perception, than putting yourself into someone else’s shoes, the way an actor does and the way a person who meditates observes and thus involuntarily transforms their own mind , suddenly perceiving themselves and the world from a whole new angle?
Why make a link between acting and meditation?
During my life and especially while extensively travelling throughout the world between 2008 and 2013, I spent a lot of time in monasteries (mainly Buddhist) and Ashrams ( Hindu and Osho) and later on Vipassana (www.dhamma.org) where I learned various meditative practices and was stunned to find out about the similarities between the way an actor observes and creates and a person who meditates witnesses and transforms his or her mind.
I also started to practice “Osho Active Meditations” and later on "Vipassana" (an even more powerful technique of meditation) and was delighted to find out, that they can greatly benefit people working in the performing arts, as they are wonderful methods for centring, body/mind awareness, focusing and breathing in the most beneficial manner.
My aim is therefore to combine acting practice with meditation and make my participants aware of how they can use both in order to realise their full potential as an artist as well as a human being and thus live a more conscious, happy, courageous, fun and loving life.
